API 5L certificate is issued by API (AmericaN Petroleum Institure) for those mills or companies which have been certified by the insiture. Because API 5L specification is applied for line pipe of natural gas or oil industrial. So, there are many strict requirements for API 5L steel pipe.
If one mill claims they have API 5L certificate. You can check on the certificate the number of API, like 5L-0919, 5B-0213, etc. And on the bottom of the certificate, you will find a website:www.api.org/compositelist.
You can check with the certiifcate number 5L-0919 on the given official website. If there are records, then the mill’s certificate is true, otherwise, it’s false.
In this way, you can authenticate if one mill is API certified or not and avoid being cheated.
