Michigan Seamless Tube acquires rights to produce Blue Diamond Brand

Michigan Seamless Tube LLC, a manufacturer of carbon and alloy cold-drawn  seamless tube and pipe, and Wheatland Tube, North America’s leading standard and sprinkler pipe producer, announced that MST has acquired the exclusive rights to the prestigious Blue Diamond brand of A106 seamless tube and pressure pipe from Wheatland Tube. As a result of this transaction, MST is now the sole domestic producer of this specialty pipe to the North American steel market.

Since 2012, MST has served as the sole manufacturer of A106 pipes for Wheatland Tube, providing the necessary materials for Wheatland Tube to offer threaded and coupled pipes with a Blue Diamond finish. MST’s acquisition of the Blue Diamond brand makes it the premier American destination for all A106 products.

“Our partnership with Wheatland Tube has been mutually beneficial, and we feel that it is a natural transition to bring Blue Diamond in-house alongside MST’s other choice tube and pipe products,” stated Ted Fairley, MST vice president of sales and marketing, in a release. “Blue Diamond is an exceptional piping product that exceeds ASTM A106 requirements, and during its rich history the brand has come to symbolize industry excellence. As always, MST remains dedicated to providing its customers with only the highest levels of customer service on goods that are 100 percent melted and manufactured in the USA. This commitment will now extend to a diversified product line and expanded customer base.”

Michigan Seamless Tube was founded in 1927 in South Lyon. It manufactures carbon and alloy seamless tube cold-drawn and pipe for a variety of different industries including aerospace, mining, construction, automotive and agriculture. Pennsylvania-based Wheatland Tube is a division of JMC Steel Group and produces a wide range of steel tubular products, including galvanized mechanical tubing, fence framework, fire sprinkler pipe, electrical conduit, elbows, couplings and nipples.
